Homes for Nottinghamshire's residents remain out of reach as plans for thousands more in the region are slashed. And if you want a home in the East Midlands, then Ashfield in Nottinghamshire is the cheapest place to buy.
Three years into the housing slump and homes in the East Midlands are still out of reach for thousands of households throughout the region. That's according to a new report to be published by the National Housing Federation.
East Midlands Home Truths 2010 warns that house prices in the region have increased faster than the national average and that a 90 per cent mortgage on an average home here now requires an annual income of over £40,600.
The report follows a major conference in the region warning housing providers from across the Midlands that the region is struggling to meet housing need against a backdrop of the fastest growing number of households of anywhere in the country - growing 30 per cent faster over the next 20 years.
Great blog in here. Thanks for the great read.
